Weekend Read and Listen: Why Life Is Not a Journey

IMG_0765

The wry, wise humour of British Philosopher  Alan Watts shines bright in this short film on the fruitlessness of striving to “get somewhere” and the beauty to be found in experiencing life as a dance rather than a race or a competition. Set to the images of Terrence Malick’s Tree of Life , a gentle but powerful reminder on the importance of living life in the moment.

The soundtrack is from American band Sleeping at Last. It was new to me and I was pleased to discover  Saturn  – the video is worth a look too.
